Theresa Bremansu was attacked by fans of Prisons Ladies
The Ghana Football Association's (GFA) Normalization Committee (NC) condemned what it saw as an unscrupulous attack on FIFA referee Theresa Bremensu in the semi-final match. of the special women's competition between Prison Ladies and Ampem Darkoa in Sunyani. at week-end.
He therefore declared that he did not tolerate any abuse; verbal or physical, towards match officials and takes these attacks very seriously.
According to a statement issued by CN, incidents such as acts of violence against referees are a drawback for the country in its efforts to normalize Ghanaian football.
The statement recalled Dr. Kofi Amoah's warning at the launch of the special contest, that improvements to the GFA's statutes and regulations, as far as they are needed, would not free our football from irregularities, corruption , uncivilized behavior and unjustified aggression.
"Part of our nation's ability to transform our football has nothing to do with regulation; it has to do with the formation of attitudes, cultures, awareness and the adoption of our humanity and our common goals.
"Attacking a referee physically must be condemned by everyone and exorcised from all parts of our football," he said.
The statement badured the general public that CN would liaise with the police to ensure that perpetrators are appropriately punished.
In the meantime, the standardization committee, in accordance with the GFA statute, will refer the matter to the GFA Disciplinary Committee.
He appealed to the football community to help preserve this beautiful game.
