The availability of Marcus Rashford is uncertain, while Nemanja Matic, Ander Herrera, Eric Bailly and Antonio Valencia stood out in their absence as Manchester United trained on the eve of their first leg in the Champions League quarter-finals against Barcelona.
The quartet missed the Premier League defeat last week against the Wolves and was out of the open round of Tuesday's session at the Aon Training Complex.
Alexis Sanchez played an important role in his recovery of form, but one wonders about the form of Rashford after the attacker began the session by doing an individual job after an injury to the ankle.
The 21-year-old missed United's 2-1 defeat against the Wolves last Tuesday because of an ankle problem. The striker has suffered injuries for six weeks and had to do without the two qualifiers of England for Euro 2020 in March.
The last injury, however, was not felt as an ankle injury. He was back at United's training ground on Friday and participated in a light workout.
He had also trained with the main group on Saturday, but he was unable to attend the main session today, his doubts about his availability to face the Barca Wednesday increasing.
