Former President John Dramani Mahama is scheduled to begin a three-day campaign visit to the central region starting Wednesday, April 10.

According to officials of the National Democratic Congress of the region (CND), this visit is part of the preparations for the upcoming elections.

At a press conference on Tuesday with Onua FM regional correspondent Kwame Kakarba, Regional Communications Officer Kwesi Dawood said the visit would allow the former president to engage with the leaders of the organization. party, interact with stakeholders and establish contacts with the party base.

It is expected that it engages citizens in general.

The tour will lead the flag bearer three times to the East and West Awutu Senya, East and West Gomoa, Effutu, Ekumfi, Mfantsiman, North and South Cape Coast and KEEA constituencies.

He will be the special guest of a forum on education, at the University of Cape Coast, to address the state of education in Ghana. It will be led by a former vice-chancellor of this school, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, who sat under the leadership of Mr. Mahama as Minister of Education.

The former president defeated six others in February to bring out the opposition party's candidate in the 2020 elections.
