Hiplife artist Edem has asked the organizers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) to extend the field of laurels to cover artists across the country and not just those based in Accra.

According to Edem, it is unfair for organizers to focus on artists based in Accra.

Edem said during the race on Clbad91.3FM: "Kofi Kinaata may well be important to Takoradi and it will be his stronghold and his base, Strongman has a huge fan base in Kumasi as some artists in Accra. If you use Accra as the predominant space, you are not fair to Strongman, Fancy Gadam, Macasio or Wiyaala. This is the Ghana Music Awards, so we have to look at this historically. "
