Bernardo Silva: The strength of Manchester City lies in "the absence of Cristiano or Messi"

Bernardo Silva claimed that the strength of Manchester City lies in the fact that they do not have superstars such as Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi.

City, which pursues the Quadruple, has among its ranks extremely talented players, including Sergio Aguero, Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling.

However, Silva believes that the fact that City does not have a dominant character like Ronaldo and Messi makes them stronger collectively.

Silva, Ronaldo's international teammate with Portugal, told GQ Portugal: "The captains, mainly (Vincent) Kompany, obviously have a big impact on the group, Fernandinho, who speaks a lot, even in the most difficult moments. David Silva and Aguero, older players, are all big names, especially in the tough times of the season.

"But I think that the strength of our team is not having a player like Cristiano or Messi, that in itself makes a difference.

"Every player has a place in the team and everyone feels equal. I think that's the main strength of our team.

Silva insisted that City had no player on whom they were still looking to pbad the ball so that he could score.

Silva said, "This is not really what I mean. I mean we do not have Messi or Cristiano, it's clearly above all the others, you pbad the ball and mark.

"When you have someone like Cristiano, you know that sometimes he wins games by himself, we do not have that in Man City."

Having already won the Carabao Cup this season, City continues its glory.

Pep Guardiola's players will qualify for the FA Cup final, where they will face Watford, while they are in second place in the Premier League, two points behind Liverpool, with one game less.

City will follow Tottenham 1-0 in the first leg of their quarterfinal match in the Champions League, but will look to change the game when their teams meet at Etihad Stadium next week.

Silva missed the first leg against Tottenham and the 24-year-old hopes to return to the game quickly.

This season, Silva, who can flourish in the middle or off the field, was extremely impressive and scored 11 goals in all competitions, while providing 12 badists.
