He added that if the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and other regulators had handled the case more professionally, the case would not have been caught off guard.

His comments follow the acquittal and release of Nana Appiah Mensah, aka NAM1, from Menzgold's CEO, after a Dubai court has cleared him of any wrongdoing in a case. brought against him by the Emirati firm Horizon Diamonds.

NAM1 is expected to return to Ghana in the coming days, hoping to settle its debts to the thousands of Menzgold.

The aggrieved customers say they hope to recover their money when NAM1 arrives in Ghana, saying they are willing to pay their money back to Menzgold if the company meets all the legal requirements and is allowed to do business.

Timothy Binorp said, "The government can not deny the benefits it draws from Nana Appiah; at least he employed young people and paid taxes, so he was not to be crucified. "

He said the number of Menzgold employees currently at home was to be a cause of concern for the government.
