Atletico Madrid striker, Diego Costa, was banned from eight games after being found guilty of abusing an umpire.
Former Chelsea player, 30, was sent off by official Jesus Gil Manzano in Atletico's 2-0 defeat against Barcelona in La Liga.
Manzano said in his match that the Spanish international had "insulted his mother", an badertion refuted by Costa.
The ban of the Spanish Football Federation prevents it from playing the last game of the Liga Atletico this season.
Costa, who can appeal the ban, has been suspended for insulting the referee for four matches and four others for grabbing the arm of the official.
