Things between Antonio Brown and Ben Roethlisberger seemed to be going well.
They had a connection envied by the rest of the league since Brown had the best four-year sequence of a wide receiver in the NFL history. The Pittsburgh Steelers have been thrown and have always felt threatened by the AFC, especially considering that Roethlisberger already has a pair of victories in the Super Bowl.
But in early 2017, cracks began to appear. After the quarterback did not notice a big open Brown in a match against the Ravens, the receiver took his frustrations to the cold water. Instead of keeping things behind closed doors, Roethlisberger expressed his thoughts on the explosion of the sideline on the radio so that all could hear him. This will become an increasingly interesting theme, as the Pittsburgh flagman would have used the tactics with other recipients, and would continue to express his views on Brown in the 93.7 The Fan.
It would become apparent that many of his teammates did not approve of this tactic, but the Steelers' coaches and front-office did not seem to care. This only exacerbated the problems and while Big Ben was on the radio, Brown was using Twitter to make himself known. So much has come to light, media speculation has multiplied and players have been amazed by questions about their relationship.
They did their best to play well, but by the end of 2018 he had snowballed into something that could not be hidden. Brown was benched for his last game of the season after a fight in training. He derailed from there, in a way that ensures we have not heard the end.
