GRA says the online application is to enable taxpayers prepare, apply & receive GRA online services.
The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has announced that it will introduce a new tax code to the Ghana Revenue Authority's new app, the Integrated Tax Application Preparation System (iTaPS).
Speaking on Asempa FM's Ekosiisen program, Wednesday, the Principal Revenue Officer at GRA, Mr Alex Oppong-Poku explained that the online application was to enable taxpayers to prepare, apply and receive GRA online services.
"We want to ensure accountability and improve the payment of taxes in Ghana, with ITaps, tax filing has now become convenient, easy and badessable for individuals and companies of the Internet connection. You can use your visa cards or mobile money to pay online, "he stated.
There are penalties and interests that increase when taxpayers fail to pay taxes.
As a result, Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, challenged Ghana's tax administration, the GRA to come up with a simplified electronic system that would enable taxpayers to file their tax returns, using their phones or computers at their convenience.
The app allows access to the TAX Clearance Certificate (e-TCC) and the Withholding Tax Credit Certificate (e-Tax Credit) and the VAT Withholding Tax Credit Certificate (e-VAT Credit)
ITaPS also seeks to badist taxpayers to keep the records required to fulfill their tax obligations, along with the GRA as well as to improve its performance of Tax Administration Administration Tools (TADAT) ranking under voluntary compliance.
