The Auditor General, Daniel Domelovo, has indicated that his office would conduct a value-for-money audit for the entire project to be built under the Sinohydro Agreement, commissioned by the President on Wednesday.

He once said the projects started; his office will select some of the routes and conduct an audit to determine if the country is not being traded.

"Once the construction starts, we will choose some roads and we will do it … Good value for money can also happen even after the project.

"I would like to send a warning to the contractors who will do the work.We do not hate you, but you can not take our money," he told the media in Accra on Thursday.

President Akufo-Addo on Wednesday launched the Project Support Agreement (MPSA) signed by the Government of Ghana and SinoHydro, as well as the ground cut for the construction of the Tamale Interchange, the first interchange in the north of the country.

According to President Akufo-Addo, Ghana, through a barter agreement, will carry out priority infrastructure projects worth US $ 2 billion nationwide, in exchange for delivery to Sinohydro of aluminum products manufactured in Ghana.

The barter agreement therefore required the creation of the Ghana Integrated Aluminum Development Corporation, a statutory public corporation, to oversee the development of the operation of the entire bauxite value chain in the country.

This he explained, he said, in order to guarantee Ghana a vibrant aluminum industry "and to guarantee the end of the barter transaction." This innovative arrangement, the first of its kind on the continent, is not going to increase the total stock of the debt of our country. "
