Be a candidate on Fantastic race allows you to travel to beautiful places, to experience new cultures and to go on TV. But if you've always dreamed of getting up and joining the more than 500 people in the series, you may not know where to start. Fortunately for you, we have compiled a handy list that will guide you through the process. This is how you are thrown on Fantastic race.

How old should I be?

All candidates must be at least 21 years old before the start of the race for which they are applying.

What should I submit?

According to the CBS website, "Online applications are accepted year-round via this site, or you can participate in one of the listed open calls".

If you participate in an open call, all you need to bring is an identifier.

If you apply online, you and your partner will need to fill out a form with your name, address, mobile phone, as well as information about your appearance, profession and the status of your relationship. You will also need to submit a photo of yourself with a 3 minute video.

The video should showcase your personality and your relationship with your teammate. It should also contain interesting information about you and your partner, such as the skills you have that would make you great for the show or an intriguing fact about your hometown and how it affected you.

Who can I choose as a partner?

A solid relationship with your partner will be well read on the screen, so picking your neighbor that you only see twice a month or a colleague you barely know is probably not the best choice .

I do not have a pbadport, is it a problem?

As the show is based on travel, all applicants must be US citizens and hold a valid US pbadport and driver's license.

Can I submit multiple applications?

You can apply as many seasons as you want, but you will have to send a new request each time. You are also allowed to apply more than once for a season, but this will have to be with different teammates.

What do I do at work / school / my responsibilities?

The CBS website says: DO NOT APPLY IF YOU CAN NOT TAKE OFF WORK TO FILM THE SHOW! Capital letters and bold characters let you know that they are serious.

When will I receive an answer?

If you are selected as a semi-finalist, you will receive an e-mail from the show telling you what to do. If you are not selected, you will not hear anything (sorry).

Any advice for me?

Lynne Spillman threw for SuRevivor and Fantastic race for about 20 years, and she has already given advice on the Cast Reality Wanted website. His best advice includes:

  • In your video, do not use costumes, hand puppets, or special effects, and so on. We want to meet you and know who you are. I like to see clips of candidates at work, at home with their loved ones, make their favorite hobby.
  • Candidates should know that this is Fantastic race is a relational show. I also want people to tell us what they will bring to the show and why they would be good in the show. Too many candidates tell us that they know that they will win, but honestly, I do not care if you win. I want good stories, it's a good TV.
  • Send clear and recent photos, nothing more depressing than having an in-person audition and realizing that the photo she sent us was five years old or sent it, they had hair blond and now they are black.
    • The written requests are so important that they tell me a lot about the applicant. Do not think too much about the request or fill it too quickly.
    • If you come to a free casting call, fill out the form before the audition. There is so much going on during the conference call that you will not be able to fill in as much as you can when you have time at home.
    • When you participate in an open cast, be yourself, do not come dressed in a goody costume, this could get you to local news but not to The Amazing Race.
