"This season already, we have witnessed discriminatory repetitive abuse inside stadiums in England, Europe and around the world. abuse that has been captured on devices and put into the public domain.

"We have also witnessed many heinous attacks on social media.

"This behavior must be called for what it is: pure and simple bigotry. The Liverpool Football Club believes that it is incumbent upon those in positions of authority, in accordance with the appropriate procedure, to act urgently to identify and then punish anyone who commits a crime motivated by the hatred.

"There is no place for this behavior in football, there is no place for that in society. A crime of this nature causes more casualties than any individual for whom it is intended and, as such, collective and decisive action is necessary to combat it. "

"Chelsea FC finds all forms of odious discriminatory behavior and if it is clearly established that holders of Chelsea season tickets or members involved in such behavior, we will take the strongest possible action against them.
