Lawro Premier League predictions against golfer Matt Fitzpatrick

Sunday is a big day in the Premier League race, with Liverpool leaders and defending Manchester City champions in action.

Prediction of Matt: Tottenham had a nice midweek victory against City. Harry Kane's injury is not going to help them, but they are playing very good things. 3-0

Brighton v Bournemouth

This is the start of a big week for Brighton, which will face Cardiff at home Tuesday, and I think the timing is right for them to face Bournemouth.

The Cherries were everywhere on the defensive in their defeat against Burnley last week and Charlie Daniels' injury means that manager Eddie Howe does not have many options at the back.

Brighton blew and blew in the FA Cup semifinal against Manchester City, but they never really committed themselves to going forward, probably because they felt that they really did, they could score a few goals.

Burnley v Cardiff

Cardiff is the team that has all the work to do to get out of relegation places, and it's a huge game for them – one of two in four days.

It's really a decisive step for the Bluebirds, because they really have to win at least one of them, whether at Turf Moor or Brighton on Tuesday.

Burnley's victory over Bournemouth last week was mbadive. That gives them 36 points, with a goal difference much higher than Cardiff's. Win again Saturday, and that would guarantee almost everyone.

The Clarets have had a tough fight – they face Chelsea (a), Manchester City (m), Everton (a) and Arsenal (m) in the final weeks of the season – so they know that they have to overcome the line as soon as possible.

Cardiff will give them a good game, but I do not see where the goals of the Welsh team will come from. With nine games out of 15 on the road, they are the team that has scored the least goals in the first division this season.

Fulham v Everton

Everton plays well and wins. When they are at their best, especially at Goodison Park, they make life difficult for the opposition by playing at a very high tempo and they should try to repeat that at Craven Cottage.

The Palaces are safe – or nearly so – after their win in Newcastle last week and, with just four wins in 16 games at Selhurst Park, their home record this season is not really impressive.

Liverpool v Chelsea (4:30 pm BST)

I think Liverpool will win this victory, whether Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri chooses his best team or not.

I was at Tuesday's win against Porto in the Champions League and the Reds should have won more than two goals, but I've always thought that they could have improved their game at any time.

They have been resting well since Tuesday night and I do not think they were overwhelmed midweek anyway.

ON MONDAY

Watford v Arsenal (8:00 pm BST)

The arsenals are still gone – and they can not possibly be worse than they were at Everton last weekend?

In fact, I think the Gunners will win this one, although it has nothing to do with their form. They have beaten down the Huddersfield side on the road since the end of November.

I think instead we will not see the same intensity from Watford while the FA Cup final is only a few weeks away.

This will be a special day for many players and it would be understandable if they were distracted by this. If this reduces the team's performance by 5% on Monday, that's all Arsenal would need.
