Indeed, not all of the government's socio-economic policies and interventions could have a significant impact if Ghana did not have an educated workforce – a highly skilled workforce able to provide the solutions needed for the problems of a technology-hungry company and entrepreneur-driven Ghana.
Various researchers have suggested that economic development resulted from increased productivity and structural change, which requires investment, job creation and technological progress. Education is an essential instrument for increasing productivity, structural change and economic freedom. Public tertiary institutions alone can not develop the human capital needed for Ghana's economic development and transformation.
