Some Tarkwa villagers in Tarkwa Nsuaem municipality in the western region blocked Wednesday morning the Tarkwa-Takoradi main road to protest its deplorable state.

Protesters burned old vehicle tires and mounted fences on the Tarkwa-Ahietieso stretch, disrupting traffic.

This is not the first time that locals have blocked the Tarkwa-Takoradi main road to protest its condition.

In September 2018, some Tarkwa leaders led residents to block roads in protest to stop their economic activities.
