Kwadwo Bamba, announced the dissolution of the group based in Kumasi
The founder of the Delta Force group, a militia group affiliated with the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Kwadwo Bamba, announced the dissolution of the Kumasi-based group.
He added that the decision to dissolve the group followed the presentation of the draft law on vigilance and related offenses, which will dissolve the activities of the militia groups of political parties.
Attorney General Gloria Akuffo tabled the bill in Parliament on Thursday, April 11, 2019.
The Speaker of Parliament, Professor Mike Oquaye, referred the bill to the Committee on Constitutional, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs for consideration under an emergency certificate.
Addressing Neat FM, based in Accra, on Friday, April 12, 2019, Mr. Bamba said, "Officially, there is no longer any group like Delta Force in the NPP.
"After a series of meetings with party leaders, we agreed to dissolve the group to restore peace, but all members are still part of the NPP."
"It is also a mark of respect for President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, who called for the dissolution of the groups. And, as we speak, the group has been dissolved but the members still belong to the NPP. "
