Parliament approved the appointment of Evelyn Ama Kumi Richardson as Bono Region Minister Friday night by secret majority.
The approval of his candidacy was suspended when the minority in Parliament raised issues earlier in the day during the debate on the Nominating Committee's report.
Speaker Aaron Mike Ocquaye, Speaker of the House, asked the House to vote by secret ballot to determine the fate of the proposed candidate.
One hundred and twenty-four (124) members voted for, while 85 disagreed.
The President congratulated the Minister on her appointment to this position.
Parliament has since suspended its work and is expected to resume work on May 29.
