Caito Foods initiated the recall and stopped producing and distributing salmonella-related products in 93 reported diseases, including 23 hospitalizations, health and food safety officials said.

The products were sold in the following states: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
In 2018, Caito Foods was part of a similar outbreak to salmonella related to precut melon products.
