President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Saturday urged Ghanaians not to let multi-party democracy divide them as the country prepares for the 2020 elections.
He urged them to be bold, to ignore and name and shame the politicians and political parties that could use them to provoke political violence that would shatter the election.
He stated that the Government was about to fulfill its mandate and make a remarkable improvement in the socio-economic life of the population, and badured that its administration would justify Ghanaians' confidence in the New Patriotic Party.
President Akufo-Addo delivered a speech in front of one of the Kenyasi Number One leaders and residents, Kenyasi Number Two and Ntotroso Traditional in the Asutifi North District of the newly created Ahafo Region, as part of of his working visit to Bono Regions Bono Est.
He said the creation of new regions aims to bring local governance to the doors of the people and to mobilize their support for the development of these regions.
The President had previously presented eight vehicles and five motorcycles for the operation of the new Ahafo regional administration and had gone to the construction site of the Regional Coordinating Board (RCC) office in Goaso, the regional capital.
Nana Osei Kofi Abiri, supreme leader of Kenyasi Number One, congratulated the president for the Free High High School (SHS) program, planting to feed and create jobs and for the creation of the Ahafo region.
He said that food production in the region was plentiful because of Planting for Food and Jobs.
He expressed concern about the deplorable nature of the Kenyasi-Hwidiem road and access roads in Kenyasi Number One and Kenyasi Number Two townships and urged the government to rehabilitate them.
Nana Abiri said that the OLA Girls SHS and the Ntrotroso College of Nursing needed infrastructure, while the Kenyasi Number One also needed a technical and vocational training school to offer skills usable to young people.
