Motorists were warned that they would face heavy queues next week, with more than 25 million cars obstructing British roads during the Easter breakout.

Good Friday will be the busiest day with 4.4 million scheduled trips, which will lead to saturation of the main routes between 11am and 4.30pm, according to RAC research.
