The young Liverpool defender explained why he thinks there's no better than the Reds' central defender
Young Liverpool Ki-Jana Hoever said his team-mate Virgil van Dijk was the best defender of world football.
The former Southampton man enjoys an outstanding season for the Reds and is now considered by many to be one of the best central defenders in the world.

"Virgil is the best defender in the world – and I can say it with absolute certainty," said the 17-year-old. the mirror.

Hoever hopes to someday be able to operate at the same level as Van Dijk, and said the Dutch captain had forwarded some expert advice on training.
"It's not just watching him play against the best attackers in the world who makes me admire him," Hoever said.
"When I play with him at the training, I see all the details, his thirst for perfection, his way of guiding me, his positioning and his small comments to me.
"He seems to be right all the time. I wonder, at these times, why I did not see it or why I was not in that position before. For me, it's pure clbad.
Hoever was selected by the Netherlands at the youth level and confessed that he would like to align alongside his Liverpool colleague on the international stage.
"I hope that in a few years I will be able to play alongside van Dijk in defense," he said. "You can not wish for a better mentor and tutor as a professional player.
