Asantehene congratulates Vodafone on Ghana CEO

Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II commended Vodafone for appointing a Ghanaian CEO to run the company's business.

Last month, Vodafone announced that Patricia Obo-Nai, Director of Client Operations and Fixed Operations, would replace Yolanda Cuba as Executive Director effective April 1, 2019.

Yolanda Cuba resumed her role as Strategy Officer at Vodacom South Africa after completing her three-year mission in Ghana.

Commenting on his appointment during a courtesy visit of Vodafone's management to officially introduce the new CEO, Otumfuo Osei Tutu said that he was is satisfied that the telecommunications giant has finally named the Ghanaian at the helm.

"I congratulate you on this accomplishment and I am confident that it will get the support it needs to succeed and build on Yolanda's legacy by advancing society," he said.

The Vodafone delegation in Asantehene was led by the chairman of the board Dr. Kobina Quansah, director of external affairs for Gayheart Mensah and human resources director of Ashiokai Akrong, as well as other Vodafone officials from the Accra and Kumasi offices.

Patricia Obo-Nai, Executive Director, said: "First of all, I want to congratulate Nana on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of her coronation. I also congratulate him for his unparalleled contribution and leadership in the economic and social development of this region. Finally, I want to badure all of our customers that we will continue to be a leader in innovation and creativity in the sector while ensuring that their technological future is bright. "

The visit also aimed to inform Otumfuo of the upcoming Asantehene Golf Open Championship, for which Vodafone is the main sponsor. This year's tournament, which begins on May 8, 2019, should take on another dimension because of its coincidence with the 20th anniversary of the coronation of the great monarch.

The team also made a check for 50,000 GHC for the celebration of the coronation of his royal majesty.
