LILIAN STEVEN | [[[[Laughs]That's right, we have this series of events and Miles really feels amazed at the last moment when he walks down the street. So, I think the question is twofold: This is the second friend God has now, and has Joy been sent the Miles name because he needs help? Or does Miles need to help him and show him what he's doing? And these two are not mutually exclusive, but I think that's not something Miles will try to understand: why Joy was chosen by God's account.
BRYAN WYNBRANDT | That's exactly what Rakesh is going to tell him pretty quickly in Season 2: "What are the two options here? Are you Obi-Wan for her? Or do you need help? For Miles, "What can I need help with? But if you think about the last episode, was an edifying tale about making sure you tell the person that you like those words. So maybe Cara was not supposed to get on this plane?
TVLine | Is the account of God franchised now? Does it spread?
LILIEN | [[[[Laughs]I do not know if the God Account is a franchise, but I think that definitely raises these new questions, that Miles is not necessarily the only one, and what does that mean? We do not know immediately where [Joy] is from, and where she lives. Did she come to New York? Does she live here? These are all questions we will answer right away in the next season.
WYNBRANDT | It does not matter who is behind the story of God, it is a parable and, obviously, in all religions, there is the prophet and his disciples. Where is Miles in History? Is he the first? Joy is the second? Or are there before him? What's so exciting about Joy is that she kind of shatters everything we thought we knew and turned it upside down. And as storytellers, it's a life-giving idea to expand the language of our series with his character.
TVLine | Because we did not see her getting on the plane, I have to ask: Is Cara really going to Paris?
LILIEN | [[[[Laughs]She does. She was wearing the beret and everything. Yes, she gets on the plane and she goes to Paris. Honestly, we are very excited, because we are going to tell the story of Cara in Paris during the first two episodes. [of Season 2]. She will have her own story and her own trajectory that will change her. So when she returns to New York, things will not be the same as when she left.
TVLine | What does it mean for Cara and Miles? They recognized that they like it, albeit in a roundabout way. Does the distance make the relationship stronger or weaker?
WYNBRANDT | I think it will challenge them … I would say that any good relationship needs a challenge to become even stronger. It will be a difficult journey. And what does Joy's entry into the story make for that too, now that Miles has someone who, as Steven pointed out, understands the burden of what he's living differently than Rakesh's? and Cara? How does this affect these relationships?
LILIEN | [Miles is] walk in the street with Rakesh, [who’s] saying, "How come you did not tell him?" and [Miles is] saying, "Because she already knows it." We'll start again in Season 2, and Miles's fight is: When will he tell Cara? He does not want to tell her immediately, he does not want her to come back. It's a great moment for her, above which this thing is going on. How will Miles share this news with Cara and what does it mean for her and for them?
TVLine | Hot Question: Did Henry make Pria's feelings or not?
WYNBRANDT | I think he was very touched and moved, and as he said, he is happy to know finally. I think he feels the same feelings, of course.
