MAnchester United has already written part of the history of the European Cup this season, becoming the first team to reverse a 2-0 home defeat in the second leg to eliminate Paris Saint-Germain. Now, to progress beyond Barcelona, they will have to win at Camp Nou – that the visiting teams have only done 15 times in the last 10 years.
May 2009: Barcelona 0-1 Osasuna (The league)
Matching this score on Tuesday will bring the game to extra time, but United's fans may prefer to forget the match. Pep Guardiola's players were already champions when an under-composed team of Bojan and Aleksandr Hleb was defeated by Walter Pandiani's header. Four days later, Barça beat United 2-0 in the Champions League final.
October 2009: Barça 1-2 Rubin Kazan (Champions League)
The lesson here is to strike early. Aleksandr Ryazantsev's thunderbolt after two minutes was finally canceled by Zlatan Ibrahimovic but, as the hosts showed up, Gökdeniz Karadeniz knocked on the opposing goal. Barcelona is still leading the group.
January 2010: Barcelona 1-2 Seville (Copa del Rey, last 16 first leg matches)

Sevilla lost 1-0 at home against Barça and still won on both legs. Barcelona's experimental players were beaten when Dmytro Chygrynskiy took Diego Capel into the box and Álvaro Negredo converted the penalty. Sevilla won the Cup.
September 2010: Barça 0-2 Hercules (The league)
The biggest defeat of the Barcelona League at home in ten years was against a most unlikely opponent, a goal of Nelson Valdez in each half that allowed the newcomers of La Liga to win. Guardiola paid the price for leaving Xavi, Sergio Busquets and Carles Puyol on the bench against a team that is now in the Spanish third division.
April 2012: Barcelona 1-2 Real Madrid (The league)
Four of the 15 defeats were inflicted by Barcelona rivals, starting with a win that ended the Guardiola title series. Moments after the equalizer of Alexis Sánchez, Cristiano Ronaldo hit Mesut Özil's ball and allowed Victor Valdés to score. The following week, Chelsea eliminated Barça from the Champions League and Guardiola resigned.
February 2013: Barcelona 1-3 Real Madrid (Copa del Rey, semi-final, second leg)
Two familiar opponents joined forces to propel Real into the Copa del Rey final after a 1-1 draw in the first leg at Bernabéu. Ronaldo scored twice as Mourinho's team outclbaded their opponents. Shortly after, everything went wrong for Mourinho: Real lost the final of the cup against Atletico, fell in the semi-finals of the Champions League and saw Barça win the title by 15 points.
May 2013: Barça 0-3 Bayern Munich (Champions League, semi-final, second leg)

While Madrid was defeated by Dortmund in the other semifinal, Barcelona started at Camp Nou with a four-goal deficit. Lionel Messi failed a late fitness test before Arjen Robben's first match. Barça suffered its biggest home defeat of the decade against the team that Guardiola would join this summer.
February 2014: Barcelona 2-3 Valencia (The league)
A full Barcelona squad was defeated by three quick goals in a consecutive defeat over a run of four wins in nine wins against Tata Martino. Alexis Sánchez's first match was canceled by Dani Parejo, before Pablo Piatti and Paco Alcácer hit one side of Messi's penalty kick. Jordi Alba was eventually sent off and the uneven form of the Barca allowed Atlético to claim a memorable title.
Nov 2014: Barcelona 0-1 Celta (The league); February 2015: Barcelona 0-1 Malaga (The league)
Both defeats were rare in the 2014-15 season of Luis Enrique, triple winner. Celta ruined the debut at Luis Suarez's house. The hosts were defeated by Joaquin Larrivey's winner, while the defeat against Málaga came just days before a win outside the Champions League in Manchester City. Juanmi jumped on the wrong pbad from Dani Alves in the 8th minute and with Messi below average, the hosts could not answer. The only other points lost in Barcelona at home all season were scored in the draw 2-2 against Deportivo.
April 2016: Barcelona 1-2 Real Madrid (The league); April 2016: Barcelona 1-2 Valencia (The league)
April 2016 was an awful month for Barcelona, with the disappearance of Johan Cruyff and Manel Vich, the "voice of Camp Nou". On the field, they came out of the Champions League and lost three league games in a row. Real won despite the red card of Sergio Ramos, the last goal of Ronaldo having Zinedine Zidane to win his first victory. Valencia lost 7-0 at Camp Nou in the Cup, but led 2-0 at the break after Santi Mina hit a stalemate in the first period. Messi's 500th senior goal proved futile, but Barcelona managed to retain the title.
Sept 2016: Barcelona 1-2 Alavés (The league)

Luis Enrique paid the rest price Messi and Suárez against the team promoted by Mauricio Pellegrino, who won thanks to an hour-long shot by Ibai Gómez. Jeremy Mathieu canceled Deyverson's opener, but also missed a magnificent opportunity, while Messi scored a late bench goal.
August 2017: Barcelona 1-3 Real Madrid (Spain Super Cup, first leg)
Ernesto Valverde's first home game ended in a defeat. Messi's penalty kicked off a goal from Gerard Piqué before Ronaldo came back to haunt the hosts with a spectacular solo effort. Ronaldo was booked for his celebration and then for the simulation after his expulsion – but Marco Asensio added a third late.
Nov 2018: Barcelona 3-4 Real Betis (The league)
Without Cristiano Ronaldo in your team, the best chance to succeed at Camp Nou is to absorb the pressure and grab the few chances that lie ahead. Real Betis showed that there was another way earlier this season, to win the match against Barça and score 2-0 in the first half, before the goals of Giovani Lo Celso and Sergio Cbades help them cross the wire.
