Bernard Antwi Boasiako, regional president of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the Ashanti region, better known as President Wontumi, received a double dose of his medicine for describing the father of former president John Dramani Mahama , deceased corrupt thief.
President Wontumi said John Dramani Mahama had succeeded his father, a corrupt thief, in his usual harsh attacks on Ashh Fm, based in Kumasi.
"President John Mahama is a corrupt thief, just like his father, MEAA Mahama, who was Minister of Agriculture in the administration of Nkrumah". He disclosed.
But his comments, which did not please Abbad Nurudeen, regional director of communication of NDC Ashanti, prompted the appropriate response: "If you had a father like EA Mahama, you will not be the social evil that you are today. 'hui ".
He observed that the current government has gained notoriety by hiding behind such obscure characters as Wuntomi to denigrate the enviable reputation of former President John Dramani Mahama, a reputation against which the NDC will guard jealously.

Many pedestrian falsehoods peddled by Wontumi on this platform were linked to the late father of the former president, Mr. Emmanuel Adama Mahama, who was agriculture minister under the Nkrumah regime.
For the record, these are the four key personalities who served as ministers of agriculture under the Nkrumah regime:
1.Mr. Boahene Yeboah Afari (1956 to 1960)
2. Kojo Botsio (1960 to 1962)
3. Krobo Edusei (1963 to 1965)
4. F. To Juantuah (1966 until the overthrow of Nkrumah)
At no time did Mr. Emmanuel Adama Mahama, father of the former president, be the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Ghana, as Wuntomi claims. So losing this basic historical fact about a whole Npp regional president speaks volumes about the misinformation we're talking about here.
In fact, Mr. Emmanuel Adama Mahama was the first to be appointed Minister of Northern Ghana under Nkrumah and was also advisor to Dr. Hilla Limann, President of the 3rd Republic. At no point in his public life has he even investigated any form of corruption. Thus, in the eyes of the thinking Ghanaians, he was a very disinterested and incorruptible man who served his nation with distinction and dignity. And the illustrious feat that his children (mainly John and Ibrahim Mahama have achieved in life) testifies to his outstanding qualities as a father. If we can ask; who is Wontumi's father? We dare say that if Wontumi had had such a disciplined father as E. A. Mahama to guide his education, he would never have been as helpless and misinformed as he was.
Once again, we find his allegations of corruption against President Mahama among the usual, often baseless, badertions denounced by the agents of this weak Akufo-Addo government against President Mahama's impregnable reputation. In fact, Article 57 (6) of the 1992 Constitution grants each successive government a grace period of three years to prosecute a former president who has committed an act of corruption. Therefore, by December 7, 2020, President Mahama will not be legally immune from prosecution for alleged "acts of corruption" allegedly perpetrated by Wontumi and others. We dare the Npp government either to respect the provisions of Article 57 (6), or to remain forever closed.
