Ghana's national gas company in Atuabo, in the west of the country, has completed 16 million hours of work without any deaths or accidents since its inception in 2011.
Robert Kofi Lartey, general manager in charge of operations at Ghana Gas, revealed this during Monday's visit of the Special Parliamentary Committee on Mining and Energy on the gas treatment plant. Atabo.

He said that the company took security issues very seriously and had therefore set up community liaison officers who were regularly trained on security issues with respect to the company's operations.

Since the company's offshore pipelines, Ghana Gas has been working with the Maritime Police to educate fishermen about the need to stay away from the offshore gas processing facility.
He told the members that the Ghana Gas Company was undertaking an expansion exercise to allow it to process more gas by 2024 for power plants and private companies.
"We have laid a very good foundation for any industry interested in trading with Ghana Gas to easily provide a reliable supply of gas at all times.
"We currently have a gas pipeline from Abaodze to a free zone enclave in Ashiem in Shama District, called Wanka Ceramics, which is taking us gas. We also have Twyford ceramics that also use gasoline.
"In the Prestea Corridor, we are undertaking a mbadive infrastructure expansion activity there and hope that by June, we should have another private company that will be ready to take on gas. for the production of electricity, "he revealed.
Deputy Chair of the Select Committee, George Mireku Duker, congratulated the Ghana Gas Company for undertaking an expansion exercise to allow it to process more gas by 2024, both for the power plants. electric power only for private companies.
Adams Mutawakilu, an important member of the Committee, told DGN Online that he was impressed by the way Ghanaians managed the infrastructure.
