The Nikola Wav is an electric nautical boat with 4K screen and cruise control

The electric trucking company Nikola Motors has just announced a fully electric watercraft called the Wav (pronounced "wave"). Inspired by snowmobile design, the Wav is a jet-ski style vehicle with a joker-like look that Nikola Motors CEO Trevor Milton calls "the future of PWC". It features a 12-inch waterproof 4K screen in the dashboard, front and rear, and even has a cruise control. Milton made his Wav debut alongside an all-electric all-terrain vehicle and the company's two flagship electric gears at an event in Arizona on Tuesday night.

"This watercraft defies standards and sets a new standard," said Jordan Darling, vice president of Nikola's motorsport division, on stage. The Wav will be powered by a new adaptable battery architecture developed specifically by Nikola for nautical vehicles. A smaller stand-up version will follow. The company is already accepting reservations for the Wav, but prices and other specifications have not been announced immediately. The Wav is supposed to be available in the early 2020s.

Although Jet Ski jet powered watercraft have already been tried, most have not left the concept stage. The Wav and NZT will be the first Nikola vehicles with which many people will interact, but the company's main goal is to manufacture large hydrogen and battery powered drills.
