Atlantic American Partners (AAP) in Ghana on Tuesday launched the US Federal Government's (US) EB-5 Investor Visa Program in Ghana, designed to ease the migration process of potential investors and repay investments later on .

The Investment Program is a program of foreign investors that offers potential or potential investors an opportunity to invest in the US economy as well as many other benefits including living and working in the US, accessing the public system and social security, among others.

The EB-5 visa also provides permanent residence (green card) to the potential investor, spouse and dependent children under the age of 21, allowing the investor to become a US citizen and to sponsor a green card for other members of the family.

As part of the new US visa system, the potential investor has the opportunity to obtain a refund of his lump sum, or US $ 500,000, and an annual interest of 2% if all conditions are met. by the AAP EB-5 and without removing the privileges that came with the scheme.

In an interaction with the media, Mr. Daniel Ryan, Emerging Markets-Africa's Managing Director for the AAP, said, "The EB-5 Investor Visa Program is a real investment program with the support of the federal government. American".

He said that the investment program had existed for nearly ten years on the continent and that he had helped over six hundred families under this program.

"The EB-5 Investor Visa requires an investment of US $ 500,000 in a US-based commercial or real estate project, which translates into the creation of 10 permanent jobs for US residents," he said. he adds.

Mr. Ryan explained that the process of obtaining the green card as part of the investment program was a two step process. He explained that "once the investment is made and the initial application called 1-526 submitted, it takes about 18 to 24 months for approval."

At this point, he stated that a conditional green card is issued, offering all the benefits of a full green card, until the job creation is proven, adding that 21 months later, the applicant could file the second part of the application called 1-829. .

After approval of 1-829, the conditional status would be converted to a permanent green card, noting that the entire process should last about five years.

Ryan said the AAP had started operations in Africa, primarily in Johannesburg, South Africa, where it had received 400 requests, a figure higher than the 100 expected.

Then there was Kenya, where they registered 200 requests and should receive more than 100 requests from Ghana.

By further enlightening the Ghanaian target, he noted that there was more development potential in Ghana and urged Ghanaians to prioritize governance in order to unleash all the inhibited potentials in the country.

The PAA is part of a 45-year-old investment bank that has invested more than $ 40 billion in private capital in various sectors and industries.
