Cecilia Abena Dapaah, Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources, expressed her enthusiasm for the new composting and recycling plant installed by Zoomlion Ghana Limited, a leading waste management company in the group. of companies Jospong.

The plant, which is based on robust technology for Africa, in collaboration with a European technology partner, Komptech Austria, is located in Accra Waste Recovery Park, an industrial center created by Jospong for the recovery of waste into reusable products.

The plant has a high material recovery rate of up to 90% mixed waste and a processing capacity of 200 metric tons of waste per day.

Abena Dapaah, who has not concealed her enthusiasm for Jospong's innovation, said her ministry was encouraging all businessmen and youth to embark on waste recycling because it This was the only sustainable way to manage our waste.

She said the ministry had met with all stakeholders in waste management and encouraged them to engage in waste recycling. The rapid movement of Zoomlion Ghana Limited is therefore commendable and the government will continue to provide the environment and the stimulus needed by private companies.

The factory director, Mr. Emmanuel Oteng, who led the minister around the facility, explained that the plant's ability to process 100 tons of organic compost a day could move more 864,000 bags of chemical fertilizer imported to Ghana each year, which is deliberate. stimulate the local economy and encourage the consumption of organic food in Ghana.
