SEASON 7 – SEASON 9

Controversy: Arlene was out and Alesha was in Strictly 2009 – 2011
After participating in the series as a celebrity candidate, Alesha Dixon joined the panel at the first strict shake-up.
After six seasons, Arlene received the boot. The BBC said the series needed a refresh.
This decision sparked controversy at the time, supporters accusing the BBC of discriminating against older women on television; the BBC, however, has firmly denied this.
Alesha had appeared in Strictly Season 5 and had won it with her dance partner, Matthew Cutler.
SEASON 9
Guest Judge: Jennifer Gray
Standing in: Jennifer Gray Dirty Dancing replaced for a week in 2011
Chief Justice Len had to sit for a week and was replaced by Jennifer Gray, Dirty Dancing star.
Jennifer won the 11th season of Dancing With The Stars, her American counterpart.
In the absence of Len, Craig was Chief Justice.
SEASON 10 – SEASON 14

Darcey Dance: Lady Darcey Bussell was recruited alongside the remaining stars, Len, Bruno and Craig, after Alesha's departure for BGT
Alesha traded Strictly for the office of the British Got Talent judges, leaving a place to fill for the 10th season of the dance series.
Lady Darcey Bussell was recruited alongside the remaining stars, Len, Bruno and Craig.
It was not the first time Darcey was behind the desk; she was a guest judge from the quarter-finals of season 7 of the show.
SEASON 12
Guest Judge: Donny Osmond
Special guest: Donny Osmond was a fifth judge during the third week of Strictly 12
In the third week of season 12, US coach Donny Osmond joined the four regular judges behind the desk.
This meant that this week's maximum score was 50 points.
He was also the musical guest of the week, performing Moon River live in the show.
SEASON 15 – SEASON 16
Shirley Ballas, Dame Darcey Bussell, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood
New Chief Justice: Shirley Ballas instead of Len Goodman was recently incarnated
Shirley Ballas as Chief Justice is the latest incarnation of the committee. After 14 seasons, Len resigned from his role.
Len announced that he was retiring from the series, which left a lot of speculation as to who would be the next chief justice.
While many thought Craig would be badigned the role, Shirley was appointed to the position.
Shirley moving between Los Angeles and London, she announces that she will be moving permanently to the UK in 2019, suggesting that she will not go away any time soon.
SEASON 16
Guest Judge: Alfonso Ribeiro
Carlton intervenes: Alfonso Ribeiro intervened one week in October whereas Bruno could not present himself in 2018
The new actor Alfonso Ribeiro, prince of Bel Air, intervened one week in October whereas Bruno could not appear in 2018
The actor was known to play Carlton in the American sitcom, famous for his own dance moves.
