Leaders Strictly Want Ballet Star Carlos Acosta To Replace Darcey Bussell

Strictly Come Dancing The dance bosses are keen to replace Darcey Bussell's president with another ballet star – and Cuba's Carlos Acosta tops the list.

Carlos danced with Darcey previously and it was reported that the Beeb would be ready to break the bank to land the 45-year-old player.

It has been said that the bosses will overtake Craig Revel Horwood, Bruno Tonioli and Chief Justice Shirley Ballas, offering over £ 150,000 per additional series to get the star of the dance.

It is estimated that £ 400,000 will be needed to make Carlos sign on the dotted line. The choreographer has recently agreed to become the new artistic director of the Birmingham Royal Ballet.

The Cuban dance hero received the CBE in 2014 for his ballet services after joining the Royal Ballet in 1998.

He is based in the UK and is married to former model Charlotte Holland, 37 years old. They have three children, including twins two years old.
