The ceremony held at the Tesano Police Academy in Accra marks the beginning of the construction of the hangar, which will house the first three helicopters planned for the new police squadron.
The project contract has been awarded to Paramount Group and Rizzle Consult, which are expected to be completed by the end of September 2019.
Although the police hierarchy is already recruiting personnel into the new wing, there is no specific date for the arrival of the helicopters.
The police service will have three new helicopters
President Akufo-Addo said that Ghana's police will soon have three new helicopters to facilitate their operations.
