Florian Thauvin linked to Arsenal moves while the winger wants to get rid of Olympique Marseille

Arsenal would be interested in the transfer of French winger Florian Thauvin to the Emirates Stadium during the transfer period.

The World Cup winner should leave his current club, Olympique de Marseille, at the end of the season, after a public explosion in which he qualified the Ligue 1 club as "waste", but that does not seems not to have bothered Unai Emery.

According to the French newspaper Foot Sur 7, the Gunners are among the many clubs interested in this 26-year-old, including Bayern Munich and Milan.

Thauvin had an impressive three years in Marseille after a totally unsuccessful Premier League run with Newcastle United in 2015/16. He played 13 league games without scoring a goal before returning to Marseille on loan within two weeks.

His 2017/18 season was his most prolific, scoring 26 goals and 18 badists to help Les Olympiens qualify for the Europa League final and earn a spot in the French World Cup winning team 2018.

Thauvin continued in the same line with 13 goals and 8 badists in 29 games, but his off-court actions have recently made the headlines.

After Marseille's 2-0 defeat against Bordeaux – an extremely damaging result for their hopes of qualifying for next season's Champions League – Thauvin has not held back his emotions after the match.

"It's the same every season, I'm sick of it, to finish in the top three, it's over, and even if we're going into the Champions League, what's the point?" "We're bullshit."

AS Roma and Inter are also interested in the winger, it does not appear that his comments will leave him short of contenders this summer.

Any agreement to bring Thauvin to the Emirates will probably be subordinated to Arsenal's qualification for the Champions League, which can still be achieved via the top four or by winning the Europa League.
