Dr. Ibn Chambas
The Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for West Africa and the Sahel, Mr. Ibn Chambas, is about to give a public lecture on the topic. Promotion of modern Ghanaian society through peace, tolerance and development.
The lecture of Dr. Ibn Chambas will be in honor of Imam Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu's chief during the celebration of his 100th birthday.
The week-long celebration, which begins with prayer and thanksgiving at the Abossey Okai Central Mosque in Accra, will have Vice President Alhaji Dr. Mahumudu Bawumia as special guest on Friday, April 20th.
Other programs planned for the centennial celebrations include a breakfast meeting with Christian leaders and the launch of Imam's book of biography on May 3.

PRESS RELEASE: DR MOHAMMED IBN. CHAMBAS TO SPEAK A PUBLIC CONFERENCE ON THE CELEBRATION OF THE ANNIVERSARY CENTENNIAL OF IMAM, NATIONAL CHIEF
The Centennial Anniversary Planning Committee of Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu wishes to announce to the general public the program of activities planned to commemorate the centenary of His Eminence, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, Imam National Chief, to be held on the 23rd. April, 2019. The program aligns as follows:
1. FRIDAY, APRIL 20, 2019: Jummah Prayer and thanksgiving at the Abossey Okai Central Mosque, Accra. His Excellency Vice President Alhaji, Mr. Mahumudu Bawumia, will be the special guest.
2. TUESDAY 23 APRIL 2019: Conference of the 100th anniversary of the foundation, Dr. Mohammed Ibn Chambas, Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for West Africa and the Sahel. The theme of the conference is: The advancement of modern Ghanaian society through peace, tolerance and development. The event, strictly by invitation, will take place at the Movenpick Hotel in Accra at 8:30 am. The guests of honor will be Nana Addo Dankwa President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Alhaji, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
3. BREAKFAST MEETING WITH CHRISTIAN LEADERS: As part of the activities commemorating the centennial anniversary, the Imam National Chief will hold a breakfast with the leaders of various Christian groups in Accra.
4: LAUNCH OF THE BOOK: A biography of the Imam National Chief: "A Gift to a Nation", which recounts his life, his values and his contribution to the unity, peace and development of Ghana will be launched on Friday May 3, 2019 in Accra.
The Planning Committee will announce, when the time comes, other Centennial Commemoration programs held throughout the year that reflect the principles and beliefs of His Eminence.
In the meantime, the Planning Committee and Imam National Chief's Office took note of unapproved Centennial Centennial program posters with names and pictures of the Imam Chief and leaders of our country.
While we appreciate the warmth of people towards the Imam leader and their zeal in organizing programs in his honor, we implore that programs that do not receive his blessing or the approval of his office are not presented as such to the General public.
It is important that we give courtesy to the Chief Imam and his office by not using his images for programs he is not aware of. We hope that Ghanaians will join us in expressing our gratitude to Almighty Allah for the blessings he has bestowed on our father on the occasion of his 100th birthday. Thank you.
