A shopkeeper who hit the head of a seamstress with a stick for dating her husband was sentenced to one month in prison by a court of first instance in Accra.
Salomey Dekpeh was found guilty of causing damage and unlawful damage at the end of the trial in a court presided over by Ms. Rita Abrokwah Doko.

The prosecution stated that Salomey confronted the complainant, accusing her of going out with her husband and asking her to stay away from him. The Prosecution stated on 16 April last year, at around 7 pm, that the complainant had been ambushed by Salomey while traveling to a friend's house to try to attack him.

She added that later, Salomey went to the home of the complainant's friend and hit her on the forehead with a stick and was blocked.
She added that a report had been presented to the police and that a medical report form had been sent to the complainant so that he would consult a doctor.
The prosecution stated that Salomey was later arrested by the police and that she had acknowledged the offense committed during an investigation.
