Sony has revealed hardware details on the Sony PlayStation 5 – and these are very promising. […]
In an interview with the Wired technical portal, Mark Cerny, who has already worked on the hardware of the PS 4, revealed a lot about the specifications and hardware of the Sony console. In all likelihood, it will be called Playstation 5.
For four years, the successor of the PS4 is being developed and it looks like it will continue: 2019 should no longer be a Relase, says Cerny. He also announced that a third-generation Ryzen processor would be installed, allowing AMD to play. This is based on a new 7nm architecture. The GPU will be a modified version of the Radeon Navi family. This will bring joy to graphics enthusiasts, in principle, apparently, the 8K format is supported. Just as happy as waiting: Sony will put the SSD to avoid long charging times – this despite the optical drive, which Sony wants to block again. Finally, Sony will give an example to Microsoft: for the PS5, backward compatibility on PS4 games is provided.
Since the start of sales for 2019, professionals expect a launch in the autumn of 2020, in time for the Christmas market.
