The new Lotus sports car will be easier to drive every day

He notes how this new sports car will be part of the "price segments" in which Lotus currently operates. "Electrification will definitely be part of our future," said Popham. "Beyond the car I talked about next year (the new sports car), I'm expecting all Lotus cars to have an all-electric version. It's not the only propulsion system we're working on, but electrification is definitely part of the future, no matter what segment we go into.

"We are still on dynamics and lightening," he adds. "And you have to do it with the weight of the batteries, but that's what Lotus Engineering can bring to the Geely group."
