But when airing Friday's "The Late Show," De Niro told animator Stephen Colbert that Trump had proven that he was in power "as a total loser."
"We have an aspiring gangster in the White House," added the star of several crowd-themed movies, including "Goodfellas," "Casino," and the famous "The Godfather" franchise.
This is the latest in a long series of criticisms that De Niro made to the president, which led Trump to call him "an individual whose IQ was very weak" in 2018.
