Owl found in a jet turbine during check before flight

SYDNEY – A pre-flight check revealed an unusual stowaway: an owl sleeping in a jet engine.

The owl was found during the audit of a Virgin Australia flight, the airline said Thursday on social networks.

"This owl did not have the honor of napping," said the airline. "Our engineering team saved it and the system was checked before being released into the wild."
