Muntaka Sppsl Alhaji Muntaka Mubarak

Alhaji Muntaka Mubarak, deputy of the Asawasi constituency, stressed the need to strengthen the unity of peoples of various tribal groups of Zongo communities to ensure rapid development.

He added that as long as the leaders of the various tribal groups do not form a united front that would incite the population to take pragmatic socio-economic measures, the Zongo communities in Ghana would continue to face development problems.

Addressing officials of Voix of Zongo International (VOZI), an NGO dedicated to promoting the development of Zongo communities, Alhaji Muntaka pointed out that the elimination of sectarianism and ideological divisions were the only way to promote a collective approach facing Zongo communities agenda.

He said that sectarianism, ideological differences, factionalism and tribal rivalry among the people of Zongo communities over the years were the main contributors to stagnant development and poverty among the inhabitants of these communities.

The leaders of VOZI visited the MP to discuss and discuss with him some of the initiatives implemented by the organization, particularly in the areas of education, sanitation, development of businesses, violence prevention, among others, and solicit support for success.

Alhaji Muntaka noted that it was discouraging to realize that various groups were running different programs to promote the development of Zongo, but that serious problems persisted due to the marked differences between the people of Zongo communities.

He congratulated the leaders of VOZI for issuing such an idea, but cautioned against divisions between themselves and the people they were going to serve.

He advised them to work hard to complement the efforts of different stakeholders to promote better socio-economic and living conditions for members of Zongo communities across Ghana.

The MP also instructed leaders to ensure greater transparency in accountability in all their transactions because it was the only way to gain the trust of the people.
