And because measles is such a contagious virus, it can spread quickly if it is introduced into a community where people are not vaccinated.
Doctors say that high vaccination rates can lead people to believe that the danger no longer exists.
But they point out that every healthy person aged one year and older should receive the m-m-r vaccine.
