EmCare Inc. recently learned that an unauthorized party had access to a number of employee email accounts containing the personal information of no less than 60,000 people, of whom 31,000 are patients, announced the company in an email.
On February 19, the Physician Services Provider determined that the accounts contained certain personal information about patients, employees and contractors, including their name, date of birth or age, as well as clinical information for certain patients. In some cases, social security and driver's license numbers have been affected, according to a company statement.
EmCare announced that it has implemented identity protection and credit monitoring services for patients and employees whose social security or driver's license numbers were affected.
KKR & Co. acquired the parent company EmCare, Envision Healthcare, in October 2018.
