His Eminence the Imam National Chief of Ghana, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, turned 100 on April 23, 2019.
The entire Ghanaian Muslim community, including non-Muslim leaders, is preparing for the year-long celebration of a national icon of peace, unity and development.
Many have been begotten, taught and nurtured by this noble, humble and great man of Allah for many decades.
Among them are Alhaji Aliyu Abubakar (Alhaji Ali Ghana), Dan Majen Agege, and the CEO of Global Overseas Ventures Ltd, which sponsors the first edition of the Qur'anic Contest Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, Monday, April 22, 2019 at 9am.
The Qur'anic Contest is launching a series of activities to honor His Eminence, who is widely recognized – both nationally and internationally – as the spiritual father of Ghana.
According to Alhaji Khuzaima Osman, who is the AP of the Imam National Chief and also secretary of the Centennial Organization Committee of the Imam National Chief, some of the activities rewarded are:
1. Special prayer
Blood donation at the residence of His Eminence in collaboration with the 37 Military Hospital on April 20 and 21, 2019, one day program.
2. Health Walk of the Imam National Chief. Date to announce soon.
3. Qur'anic recitation and special prayers organized by Zaeem Sheikh Abdul Wadudu Haruna and Regional Chief Imam Ashanti at the Kumasi Central Mosque. April 21, 2019.
4. Launch of the lecture series by Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia on April 23 at the Movinpeak Hotel at 9 am. Keynote speech of a guest speaker; Dr. Ibn Mohammed Chambas
5. 1st lecture series Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at the DURRA institute at 2pm.
6. Special prayers for a long life, good health and prosperity of His Eminence at the residence on Friday, April 19th at 5 pm
7. FOOTBALL GALA AT WEMBLEY, MADINA AND SUKURA ASTRO TURF STADIUM. The date will be announced soon.
8. Awarding of the professor's chair award to His Eminence at 3 pm
