– Alhaji Muntaka Mubarak, Member of Parliament for Asawasi
stressed the need for greater unity among the members of the various tribal groups
in Zongo communities to ensure rapid development.
He said that until the
the leadership of the various tribal groups has formed a strong united front for
urge the people to take pragmatic socio-economic measures, Zongo
Ghanaian communities would continue to face development challenges.
S addressing to the
executives of Voix of Zongo International (VOZI), an NGO dedicated to promoting
promote the development of Zongo communities, Alhaji Muntaka pointed out that,
ending the sectarianism and divisions in ideologies were the only way to
promote a collective approach to tackling Zongo's development agenda
communities.
He said sectarianism,
ideological differences, factionalism and tribal rivalry among peoples
Zongo communities over the years, have been the main contributor to stagnation
development and poverty among the members of these communities.
The management of VOZI
visited the MP to discuss and discuss with him some of the ongoing initiatives
implemented by the organization, particularly in the fields of education,
sanitation, enterprise development, violence prevention, among others, and seeks
his support to succeed.
Alhaji Muntaka pointed out
that it was discouraging to realize that various groups were
organize different programs to promote the development of Zongo but serious
the problems continued to exist because of the marked differences between the inhabitants of Zongo
communities.
He rented the
the direction of VOZI for coming out with such an idea, but warned against divisions
between them and the people they were going to serve.
He advised them to
work hard to complement the efforts of various stakeholders to promote
socio-economic and living conditions of the inhabitants of the Zongo communities
Ghana.
The MP also accused
leaders to ensure greater accountability transparency in all their
transactions since it was the only way to gain the trust of the people.
