Former Deputy Minister of Communications Felix Ofosu Kwakye defended Mahama's decision to run for president, saying the former president had much more to offer Ghanaians.

Mahama soberly reflected on the performance of his mandate and the current situation in Ghana under President Akufo-Addo, said a spinning doctor on Citi FM, based in Acca, adding that the former president felt obliged to "save the state ship" that the ruling government decided to demolish.

According to the former minister, the president and ruling party won the poor by "populist fervor".
