Sources said Nissan filed a criminal complaint against Ghosn for funds sent to Oman dealer over the past two years.
Prosecutors plan to bring additional charges against him on Monday, at the end of his detention period.
Ghosn denies all allegations.
His lawyers should immediately apply for bail for his early release if additional charges are brought against him.
