Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 2: Here's what you can expect from the HBO show

The first episode of the last season of Game of Thrones was essentially an installation for the most important things to come. It was entertaining, especially thanks to a reunion in abundance, but I'm only setting the stage for the conflicts of characters who are simmering and who will burst into the open.

The second episode will go further and solve the cliffhanger with which ended the first episode. Jaime Lannister was forced to confront his past sins when he found himself face to face with Bran Stark.

Here is what to expect from the second episode. All this is pure speculation but can also potentially be wasted.

Jaime Lannister pushed Bran out the window when the kid caught him in the act with his sister. We do not think Bran has any ill will towards Jaime, for the simple reason that he is no longer Bran. At least not quite. He is now another entity entirely called the Three-Eyed-Raven, a kind of seer who is interested in larger conflicts like the one against the King of the Night and not to little human things like revenge.

Daenerys Targaryen and the Starks may be less tolerant. In the teaser of the episode itself, Daenerys tells Jaime that she had always dreamed of avenging her father, Aerys Targaryen, killed by the man who had vowed to defend him.

The Starks, once they realized it was Jaime, who had nearly killed Bran, and it's for the simple reason that he's a Lannister and he was part of the band with Cersei might want to punish him . But Tyrion will probably come to his brother's defense. Brienne could also step in and tell everyone that Jaime is not the man he thinks. Anyway, Jaime will not be executed because we saw him fight in the Battle of Winterfell against the Caravan of the Dead in Season 8.

Samwell Tarly, at Bran's invitation, told Jon his true legacy. He knows that he is a Targaryen and heir to the iron throne. Our badumption is that he will not immediately tell Dany that he claims more than all the iron throne. He could discuss it with Arya, his favorite brother (we now know that she is his cousin) and perhaps also Sansa, who will probably insist on telling Daenerys.

But say that he will (probably not in the second episode), and we also think that he will claim a claim on the iron throne. Jon may have been a reluctant leader, but he may want to lead the Seven Kingdoms after realizing how dangerous Dany can be if he continues to burn his living enemies.

In addition, Dany will certainly not take this lightly. She could love Jon, but his love has limits. She dreamed of governing Westeros for a very long time. She also has two dragons and vast armies of Unsullied and Dothraki.

This will create a gap between the living before the arrival of the king of the night and his army of the dead. This sounds like the A Song of Ice and Fire series of books, which would be a metaphor for climate change. The external threat is enormous when people fight instead of uniting to fight.
