Man Utd News: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Takes a Decision on Mason Greenwood's Future

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed that Mason Greenwood would get more first-team opportunities at Manchester United next season.

Greenwood is considered one of the university's top prospects with 29 goals and 12 badists in 28 appearances this season.

The 17-year-old made two brief appearances in the Premier League this season and also played late in United's 3-1 win over Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League last month.

After his great performances for the teams of the academy, the fans of United ask Greenwood to participate more in the first team.

And Solskjaer said he felt Greenwood deserved to shine when discussing his plans to reorganize the United team over the summer.

When asked if it would be difficult to decide who would go and who would stay at United, Solskjaer replied, "That's what you sign up for when you sign up for Man United.

"You have to make decisions – I do not think you're [the player] for me, where you are for me.

"Say Mason Greenwood, 17, yes, you are for me. We want to give you a chance to become a leading player in this club.

"Marcus Rashford at 21, [Diogo] Dalot at 20 years old. Of course, we will give these players a chance.

"So this decision, if you want to do it, is affecting the players at the other end of their careers."

Solskjaer said: "I do not think you can expect six players, no.

"I do not think a manager would like such a change.

"I'm pretty realistic to know that there may be fewer players than six coming in, I know there will be fewer than six."

"Because we have to take one step at a time, it has to be good, it must be the right fit, we can not just hire players because we need a body."
