WWhen Karen Pickering began showing signs of menopause at age 51, three years ago, she was an experienced and capable nurse who performed medical badessments.
But after a few months, she found her symptoms unbearable.
"I had worked very well and I had confidence in myself," says Pickering, who lives in Hartlepool with her husband, Martin, a 49-year-old electrician.
