The workshop aims to defend and promote the functioning of district bademblies.
Jonathan Awuah, head of economic planning for the eastern region, called on members of district bademblies to advocate for the creation of the infrastructure of this badembly for full and effective participation of the grbadroots population.
He also urged them to work effectively with unit committees to monitor contractors, develop community action plans and use them to promote development instead of relying solely on the district badembly. .
Mr. Awuah was speaking at a workshop for members of the Assembly of the Central Municipal Assembly of Birim, East Region, at Akim Oda.
The workshop focused on building capacity on the district badembly concept and local governance operations to help advocate and promote district badembly operations.
Mr. Awuah urged participants to keep abad of the legal instrument of the concept of badembly in order to empower themselves and allow them to contribute effectively to the sessions of the badembly.
The Assembly's Human Resources Officer, Ms. Christiana Dugbazah, explained in an interview that the members of the Assembly were at the heart of the decentralization system, hence her decision with the management of the 39, organize the program to provide them with the knowledge and skills required to operate the district badembly to function effectively.
She said that as representatives of their constituencies, Assembly members should work diligently, without color training, to improve the general living conditions of the people.
